King Charles has led the busiest and most well-travelled year since ascending to the throne over the past 12 months, new analysis suggests.
The monarch conducted official duties on 175 days over the period and embarked on several international trips, all while continuing his cancer treatment.
Charles became King in September 2022 following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
In his first year as sovereign, Charles worked on 161 days and his second saw him active on 133.

However, even with the announcement of his cancer treatment in February 2024 by Buckingham Palace, the King comfortably cleared both previous tallies.
Data compiled from the Court Circular, the formal log of royal activities, demonstrated the 76-year-old sovereign took on a remarkable workload, despite those health challenges.
His third year on the throne saw Charles undertake unprecedented international travel and numerous domestic commitments at home.
These overseas excursions included his October 2024 trip to Australia and subsequent attendance at the Commonwealth Heads of Government summit in Samoa.

The sovereign also journeyed to Poland on January 27, 2025, commemorating the 80th anniversary of Auschwitz's liberation during Holocaust Memorial Day.
In April, Charles led a four-day Italian state visit in April 2025 saw him become the first British sovereign to speak before Italy's legislature, following similar groundbreaking speeches to France's senate and Germany's Bundestag in 2023.
The following month he undertook a two-day Canadian tour in May 2025, where he opened the Ottawa parliament's current session with a landmark Throne Speech.
While in the Canadian capital, the King deftly balanced the, at the time, frosty diplomatic relations between Ottawa and the United States with his address.
Charles has also taken on domestic engagements along the length and breadth of the United Kingdom

At home, King Charles’s domestic schedule encompassed visits to locations spanning the length and breadth of Britain.
He travelled from Lossiemouth in northern Scotland to Deal on Kent's coastline, with stops in Banbridge, County Down, and cities including Belfast, Birmingham, Bradford, Durham, Edinburgh and Middlesbrough.
One notable engagement brought the monarch aboard HMS Prince of Wales in the English Channel before the aircraft carrier's Japanese deployment.
The sovereign maintained his constitutional duties despite undertaking regular treatment, conducting 22 formal meetings with the prime minister during the year, just short of the 26 held in his first year.

King Charles held 11 Privy Council meetings, fewer than the 16 during his first year when increased ceremonial business accompanied his accession.
He continued receiving international leaders, including Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in June 2025 and French President Emmanuel Macron in July.
Charles also maintained audiences with charity representatives and business leaders even during March and April 2024 when public appearances were limited.
It was also a year where the King embraced new styles of rule, revealing his personal music preferences through a shared playlist, offering the public an unusual glimpse into his private interests.

The previous year saw Charles celebrate his twentieth wedding anniversary with Queen Camilla and reach his thousandth day as sovereign.
While the King’s busy schedule was impressive, he was still bested by his younger sister Princess Anne who maintained her position as the monarchy's most industrious member.
Court Circular data reveals the Princess Royal undertook engagements on 189 days throughout the year. The Duke of Edinburgh fulfilled duties on 129 days, while the Duchess of Edinburgh recorded 117 days of official activities.
Prince William busy on 107 days during over the past year while Princess Kate, who received her own cancer diagnosis in 2024, managed official duties on 37 days.
