The commentator told GB News he ‘didn’t think much of the couple’

King Charles would be “better off without Meghan and Harry” being involved in the Royal Family, a US commentator has claimed.

Speaking to GB News during a wide-ranging interview about a number of topics concerning the US, Bob Cordaro, host of the Bob Cordaro Show on WILK NewsRadio, expressed his support for Charles and the Royal Family.

However, the radio presenter who broadcasts from Joe Biden’s hometown of Scranton, went on to claim that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex had “detracted” from the Firm.

“I love the royals,” Cordaro said.

“I think they are part and parcel of what makes Great Britain great.

“I think it is an institution that needs to be protected and when I watched these two silly, unserious people depart serious work to become celebrities in the United States… I can't. I don't think much of them, frankly.

“I think a lot of the concept of the Royal Family, whether individual royals are flawed or not, it's a critical institution for Great Britain and frankly, for the world.

“It's been a guiding light for a long time. Harry and Megan have detracted from that and maybe the British Royal Family is better off without them involved anyway.”

The comments come after a recent poll suggested Americans favour the Princess of Wales over the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

In a poll of 1,000 Americans run for Mail Online between November 30 and December 1, 44 per cent of respondents favoured Kate positively.

A further 36 per cent thought the same of her husband and heir to the throne Prince William.

Despite their relocation to the States following their departure from the Royal Family, Meghan and Harry have failed to win over the hearts of the locals.

Harry scored a heart-breaking 28 per cent positivity score, while Meghan faired far worse at 21 per cent.

The results are more surprising given the recent scandal in which two members of the Firm were named as alleged racists in a Dutch edition of Omid Scobie’s book Endgame.

Scobie has denied his involvement in the blunder but admitted an “early” copy of the transcript provided to the Dutch publishers did include the names.

Two senior royals were named in the book as having raised concerns about the colour of Prince Archie’s skin prior to his birth.
