Kensington Palace has delayed its announcement of where Prince George will attend secondary school due to the upheaval it could cause, according to new claims.

Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, are currently all studying at Lambrook School in Bracknell, where they began collectively as a trio in 2022.

The fresh start coincided with Prince William and Princess Kate's family move to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, having previously resided at Kensington Palace in London.

According to Melanie Sanderson, the managing editor of The Good Schools Guide, the education of the Waleses at Lambrook School completely "changed its dynamic".

She explained: “I know that when the Royal Family joined Lambrook, for example, there were a few grumbles about just everything being tightened up and the loss of a very sweet, quite small, family-focused school.

“Suddenly gates were locked. It was harder to drop a forgotten item off. Sports day becomes a grander occasion.

“The carol service each year becomes a grander occasion. It just changes the dynamic of the school.”

Sources close to the Prince and Princess of Wales continued to tell The i that Kate and William are completely understanding of other parents' concerns.

This would explain Kensington Palace's delay in issuing a formal announcement regarding Prince George's secondary school choice.

Kate and William, both 43, fiercely guard their children's privacy as much as possible, whilst accepting there will always be public interest in the future of the monarchy.

Therefore, the official announcement of where Prince George will be educated from the age of 13 to 18 will likely be made at the eleventh hour next year.

The future king will turn 12 on July 22, 2025, meaning he is entering his final academic year at Lambrook School in September.

George, along with Charlotte and Louis, is currently enjoying an eight-and-a-half-week summer holiday.

The Waleses will likely join King Charles and Queen Camilla at Balmoral Castle at some point in August, where Their Majesties enjoy some relaxation each summer.

Other members of the Royal Family, including the Yorks and the Edinburghs, are expected to follow suit and travel north of the border.
