The Princess of Wales wore earrings given to her by Sarah Renton, which were made in memory of her daughter Issy, who tragically took their own life earlier this year.

Princess Kate and Prince William attended a Factory Works in Birmingham today to carry out events for World Mental Health Day.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with The Mix UK and Radio 1, hosted a forum for young people about "Exploring our Emotional Worlds".

Kate looked resplendent in yellow as she arrived in Birmingham today, opting to wear her bright L.K. Bennett 'Mya' jacket.

The garment originally cost £359, but it is now on sale for £179.

As well as a gorgeous jacket, Kate made a touching tribute with her jewellery, as it relates strongly to mental health.

The princess wore a pair of earrings given to her by Maidenhead Rugby Club coach Sarah Renton, which were made in memory of her daughter Issy, who tragically took their own life earlier this year. The earrings are available to buy from the charity Brave Minds.

Both the prince and princess made important and inspirational speeches today.

During Kate's speech, she said: "Back in 2016, we launched Heads Together, a campaign supported by so many wonderful partners, that helped break the stigma around mental health, and encouraged more people to have everyday conversations about it.

"Alongside the efforts of many others, we have seen real change. Today, more people feel empowered to talk about their mental health than ever before. This is a major step forward.

"William and I continue to be inspired to see young people, like you all here today, leading this charge – being particularly brave in having some of those conversations yourselves.

"As a generation, you value and talk more about your mental health than any before you – something we truly admire and applaud."

The campaign "Exploring our Emotional Worlds" will bring together 100 young delegates nominated by 10 leading mental health and youth engagement charities.

The objective is to start a conversation about how they manage their emotions and how they can be supported to build their resilience.

Over the next two days, the Prince and Princess of Wales will perform further engagements to highlight the importance of mental health.

This includes talks with university students and emergency responders.

William and Kate will also shine a light on the interaction between mental health and sport.
