The Princess of Wales traditionally presents the trophies for the singles events at the championships each year

Princess Kate and Prince William will attend the men's singles final at Wimbledon this afternoon.

Kensington Palace has announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales will carry out the joint engagement just one day after Kate's solo appearance at the women's singles final.

On Saturday, Princess Kate consoled a devastated Amanda Anisimova after her nightmare performance in the Wimbledon final.

The American tennis star suffered a crushing 6-0, 6-0 defeat to Poland's Świątek in one of the most one-sided finals Wimbledon has ever seen.

The 43-year-old royal wore an elegant cream outfit featuring a high-collared belted top and flowing skirt, paired with a £950 Anya Hindmarch tote bag.
