The Princess of Wales chose to leave behind her iconic 12-carat Ceylon blue sapphire engagement ring, opting instead for just her Welsh gold wedding band.
The famous oval-cut stone, which once belonged to Princess Diana, was absent from her finger during today's outing.
Also missing was her recently adopted four-ring stack, which typically includes a sapphire and diamond eternity band.

Throughout last year, Kate frequently chose to wear just her ring stack without the engagement ring for various official duties.

Ms Ross suggested that some days the Princess feels inclined towards a more understated ring arrangement, while on other occasions she opts for the historic sapphire piece.
