Prince William accompanied his wife in full white tie

Catherine, The Princess of Wales dazzled in a green gown by Andrew Gn as she took centre stage at tonight’s State Banquet, seated beside Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the high-profile diplomatic occasion.

The Princess of Wales, 44, arrived at Windsor Castle wearing the striking design, paired with the historic Lover’s Knot Tiara, a piece long associated with senior royal occasions.

The green colour of Catherine's dress was a clear nod to Nigeria's flag, made up of three vertical stripes, featuring green on the left, white in the centre, and green on the right.

The colours carry clear meaning; green represents Nigeria’s rich natural wealth, especially its forests and agriculture, while white symbolises peace and unity.

The mother-of-three also wore earrings that once belonged to Queen Elizabeth II, alongside King Charles III’s Royal Family Order and the GCVO sash and star, reflecting the formal significance of the evening.

Her appearance came after a day of engagements marking the Nigerian President’s State Visit, with Catherine once again playing a prominent role within the Royal Family.

Earlier, she drew attention for selecting a design by British-Nigerian designer Tolu Coker, widely interpreted as a thoughtful nod to the visiting delegation.

At the banquet, Catherine was seated beside President Tinubu, underlining her position at the forefront of the monarchy’s diplomatic efforts.

The placement is traditionally reserved for senior royals and signals the importance of the relationship between the United Kingdom and Nigeria.

Prince William accompanied his wife in full white tie, wearing a Windsor tailcoat and the sash of the Most Noble Order of the Garter with the Lesser George.

His decorations also included miniature medals for the Order of the Bath, as well as gold, diamond, platinum and Coronation medals.

On his chest, the Prince of Wales wore the insignia of both the Most Noble Order of the Garter and the Most Ancient and Most Noble Order of the Thistle, displayed as G and T.
