The Princess of Wales visited The Arc gallery in Winchester earlier this week for a private viewing of the Beauty of The Earth exhibition, which showcases the artistic legacy of William Morris alongside his wife Jane and daughter May.

Catherine shared footage from her gallery tour on the official Prince and Princess of Wales social media account, where she expressed gratitude to staff members.

"It was inspiring to see how they have placed creativity at the heart of the community and made art widely accessible," she wrote.

The princess described the exhibition as "a powerful reminder of the connection between nature, creativity and craft."

The video captured Catherine dressed warmly for the winter weather, sporting a camel-coloured coat paired with matching trousers, a roll-neck jumper, and a bright orange scarf.

Footage showed her smiling as she examined the gallery's displays, including a substantial textile piece adorned with floral and foliage designs characteristic of Morris's work.

The Arc responded to the royal visit in the comments section of the Instagram post, stating the gallery was "honoured" to have welcomed the princess.

Catherine signed off her tribute message with her initial "C," a personal touch she frequently uses on social media posts.

William Morris, born in 1834, established himself as one of Britain's most influential designers, craftsmen and artists of the Victorian era.

His distinctive textile patterns, drawing heavily on natural motifs, remain celebrated nearly two centuries after his birth.

The Beauty of The Earth exhibition at The Arc brings together works by Morris alongside pieces by his wife Jane and daughter May, offering visitors insight into the family's collective artistic output.

The gallery has positioned itself as a community-focused cultural space, an approach that clearly resonated with the princess during her visit to view the nature-inspired designs that defined Morris's creative vision.

LATEST ROYAL NEWS:

The Winchester gallery visit followed Catherine's trip to Bradford on Tuesday, where she spent time at Family Action's Children's Trauma Therapy Service as part of three engagements across northern England.

The engagement was selected to demonstrate "the healing power of creativity, community and nature for individuals who have experienced trauma, isolation and poor mental health."

During her time at the centre, the princess taught a young girl how to hear the ocean by pressing a shell against her ear, encouraging her to close her eyes and imagine being at the beach.

The child also presented Catherine with a homemade "potion" designed to ward off nightmares.
