The Princess of Wales “prevented” Meghan Markle from attending King Charles III’s Coronation, according to royal biographer Tom Bower.
The Duchess of Sussex will not be attending the celebration, while her husband, Prince Harry, will, despite making a series of inflammatory remarks about the Royal Family in his memoir, Spare.
According to statements released by Buckingham Palace and the couple’s charitable foundation, Archewell, Meghan will remain at home with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
Royal biographer Tom Bower hinted on GB News that this was not Meghan’s desire, and she was in fact prevented from attending by Kate Middleton.

Speaking to Nigel Farage, he said: “I think it’s an ugly compromise. We must all be grateful that Kate in the end prevented Meghan from coming, saying she ‘wouldn’t have her there under any circumstances’.
“She said that if she does come, she will have to sit at the back.
“I do think that for the Royal Family, Harry’s presence is constitutionally important. If, God forbid, the Cambridges all died, we’d have King Harry on the throne after Charles, so he’s got to be there.”
The announcement ended months of speculation as to whether the couple will attend, and Harry will be seen with his family in public for the first time since the funeral of his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
Prince Harry will attend the King's Coronation
PAHe will be seen in a public setting with Charles, Camilla, his brother, the Prince of Wales and sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, all of whom he made accusations about in his recent memoir, Spare.
Harry criticised Charles’s parenting, said the King was jealous of Meghan and Kate, and accused William of physically attacking him in his tell-all book, which was published in January.
He also branded Camilla “dangerous” and accused her of sacrificing him on her own “personal PR altar”.
The duke went on to allege it was William and Kate who encouraged him to notoriously dress up as a Nazi at a fancy dress party.
Tom Bower claims Harry will not be on the balcony, despite suggestions Meghan’s absence would make such a feat “easier”.
He told GB News: “I think in practice, it would be terrible if Charles did that.
“If he let Harry come on the balcony, he’d also have to have Prince Andrew on the balcony, and to have two renegade princes in front of the public like that would be a very bad start to King Charles’s reign.
“It’s not a good way to start your reign or even the Coronation itself. I think the most important thing is for Harry to be there but be as invisible as possible.”
