Kate’s quick thinking created a funny moment during the annual Christmas walk on the Sandringham Estate

The Princess of Wales went unnoticed as she attended a festive event alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in Norfolk earlier this week.

The Wales family had spent Christmas in Norfolk on the King’s Sandringham Estate, but just days before, the royals attended an event in the local area.

On December 23, the future Queen took her children to see the Thursford Christmas Spectacular, described on the official website as “an extravaganza of non-stop singing, dancing, music, humour and speciality acts.”

Comedian Lloyd Hollett revealed the royal audience on his Instagram after the performance. The performer wrote: “What a day… Today, we were honoured by the presence of Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales, alongside Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who attended our matinee performance.

“Seeing them in the Royal Box enjoying our show was truly a career highlight. We’re definitely going out on a high, with our final performance now underway.”

With the show running over three hours, the Thursford Christmas Spectacular is a "fast-moving celebration of the festive season" including an "eclectic mix of both seasonal and year-round favourites".

With a cast of more than 120 performers across a 130-foot stage, the show proudly states it's "one of the biggest Christmas shows of its kind in Europe".

2025 marked the show's 48th production, and it has received awards for the Best Christmas Experience at the 2024 & 2025 Group Leisure and Travel Awards.

Just two days kater the Wales family were seen taking the annual walk to St Mary Magadelene Church, where royal fans camped overnight to catch a glimpse of the Royal Family.

Princess Kate was seen joking with a royal fan after his chair collapsed during the walk.

As Kate was greeting fans, the man’s chair is heard cracking before he falls to the floor.

The man can be heard saying: “What have I done?” as the princess quickly checked on him to see he was okay before quipping that the man had “too many mince pies” and laughing with onlookers.

Kate was alongside Prince William, as well as King Charles and Queen Camilla, when the man's chair failed.

Kate stunned the fans she met as she wore her beloved BLAZÉ MILANO Lahloo Anyway Midi Coat for the occasion, marking the fifth outing for the £979 double-breasted brown tartan piece.

With temperatures dropping to just 6°C, the elegant midi coat proved an ideal choice for the chilly festive morning.

The trusty tartan coat first appeared at the same Sandringham Christmas service back in December 2021, establishing itself as a festive favourite.

Kate wore the coat again in September 2024 for another church visit before making two further appearances earlier this year, at the Royal Marsden Hospital in January and HMP Styal the following month.

Kate paired it with a checked skirt from Gucci's 2019 resort collection, creating a harmonious pattern combination.

Her bespoke Gianvito Rossi boots completed a trio of Italian fashion houses represented in her ensemble.
