Princess Kate has been diagnosed with a form of cancer and is now undergoing chemotherapy.

She said: “I am well and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal; in my mind, body and spirits.

“Having William by my side is a great source of comfort and reassurance too. As is the love, support and kindness that has been shown by so many of you. It means so much to us both.”

Kate also thanked the public for all the “wonderful messages” she has received after confirming her diagnosis.

She said: “I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you, personally, for all the wonderful messages of support and for your understanding whilst I have been recovering from surgery.

“It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”

The Princess of Wales was recently spotted in public for the first time since undergoing abdominal surgery on January 14.

Kate was accompanied by her husband Prince William at the Windsor Farm Shop last Sunday.

“All of our thoughts should be with the Princess of Wales,” Mark added.

“There must be no further speculation now by anyone. It’s time to let them work on this as a family the press and the public need to just leave the princess to hopefully recover in a very short time.”

Michelle also said: “It is a very sad day for both the family and friends of Catherine, Princess of Wales, and the nation as a whole.”

The mother-of-three took a step back from royal duties following the procedure but the Duchess of Cornwall has been working from home on her early years project to improve the lives of babies.

Kensington Palace confirmed that the royal has been kept up to date with her campaign while she has been recovering from the significant operation.

Kate’s announcement tonight comes just weeks after Buckingham Palace revealed King Charles was diagnosed with cancer following treatment for a benign prostate enlargement.

Charles, 75, candidly addressed his diagnosis and returned to work to meet with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak just a few weeks later.
