Princess Kate met Amy Dowden to support the Strictly star during her cancer treatment.

The Strictly Come Dancing star shared a candid update about her recent health battles and spoke about a visit from the Princess of Wales.

The 33-year-old has since teamed up with King Charles, who revealed his cancer diagnosis earlier this year, to encourage people to volunteer for the array of cancer charities across the UK.

The pro-dancer also dished on Princess Kate and detailed the support she gave her before the royal announced her cancer news.

Dowden was asked if she "felt it" when hearing about the diagnosis of the King and the Princess of Wales.

She responded: "Absolutely, especially when Princess Kate shared the news.

"It's only because I was able to meet her during my chemo treatment and she gave me so much time. She was so kind."

The Strictly star shared the heartfelt words the royal shared with her before her own diagnosis.

Dowden continued to tell Loose Women: "[Kate] said let us know if there is anything we can do."

The Princess of Wales candidly shared the news that she had been diagnosed with cancer last month and that she was undergoing chemotherapy to treat the disease.

While Kate didn't elaborate on what type or stage of cancer she was fighting, she said that she is “well and getting stronger every day” in her video message.

The Princess of Wales is known for sending sweet messages of support to those in hospital or seeking treatment.

Kate Garraway previously spoke about how Prince William and his wife sent her a "beautiful letter" after her husband Derek Draper died.

In addition, cancer sufferer Paul Philip Roberts opened up about the support he received from Princess Kate in 2019.

He said: “She basically said, ‘What cancer is it?’, And I said it was stage three and that I had my lung out, and she said ‘Oh my God, that’s awful’ and she said ‘Just keep going’ and she gave us a hug.

“She wished me all the luck in the world and she listened. She cared, and that’s one thing that struck me – she cares.”
