The Duke of Sussex claimed he found magic mushroom chocolates at the A-lister's house

Courteney Cox has responded to Prince Harry's claim that he took drugs at her house.

Prince Harry made the claim in his autobiography Spare which was released on January 10 2023.


Over a month later, former Friends star Cox responded to the claim in an interview with Variety.

The American actress said: "He did stay here for a couple of days – probably two or three.

“He’s a really nice person."

She continued: “I haven’t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I’ve heard it’s really entertaining.

"But yes, it’s gotten back to me about it.”

Cox added: “I’m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn’t passing them out.”

In his memoir, Prince Harry wrote that he originally agreed to stay at Cox's house thinking she would not be there but that was not the case.

Prince Harry wrote: “No complaints from me. As a Friends fanatic, the idea of crashing at Monica’s was highly appealing...and amusing.

"But Courteney turned up. I was very confused.

"Was her job cancelled? I didn’t think it was my place to ask. More: Does this mean we have to leave?

“She smiled. ‘Of course not Harry. Plenty of room’."

He continued: “Great. But I was still confused because… she was Monica. And I was a Chandler.

The Duke of Sussex wrote: “Somebody behind me said they were for everybody. Help yourself, boys. My mate and I grabbed several, gobbled them, washed them down with tequila.”

On Monday, Cox, 58, who played Monica Geller in Friends, was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
