The Duke of Sussex has been winning admirers in Germany
Meghan Markle’s absence from the opening days of the Invictus Games has “helped” Prince Harry’s public image, according to Eamonn Holmes.
The Duke of Sussex has been winning admirers in Germany by cheering on athletes competing in track and field events at the international event which he founded in 2014 for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women.
Harry, 38, was spotted chatting with officials as he watched a host of races.
The Duke was greeted by Gloria Orwoba, a Kenyan senator and Yulia Laputina, Ukraine’s Minister of Veterans Affairs.
The positivity surrounding his trip was praised by entertainer Christopher Biggins, who said the event shows Harry at his best.
“I’m a great fan of Harry’s, and I think it’s so wonderful he’s gone there [Dusseldorf]”, he said.

“I think it’s a great shame he spent a day here and didn’t see his brother and father, I think now they must start getting together again, we all have rows with our family.
“He has been received so wonderfully over there. The Invictus Games are his and he’s brilliant at it.”
GB News presenter Holmes agreed with the sentiments put forward by Biggins, but added that Meghan Markle’s absence “helps” the Duke’s credibility.
“He knows what he’s talking about, he’s very credible and does it very well", he said on GB News.

“And she’s [Meghan Markle] not there. All of which helps.”
The Sussexes are due to be reunited later ahead of addressing the closing ceremony on Saturday evening.
Meghan and Harry are understood to be staying at the Hyatt Regency hotel in the city.
Harry revealed on Saturday that Meghan will be cheering for Nigeria for the games after discovering that she is of Nigerian descent.
Opening the games at the Merkur Spiel-Arena, Harry said that while the Sussexes do not have favourites, Meghan’s discovery may lead to a sense of “competitiveness”.
A total of 550 sick, wounded and injured former and current military personnel from 21 countries are taking part in 10 team and individual sports.
Ahead of the games, Harry made a fleeting appearance in the UK on Thursday without Meghan, but did not take the time to meet other members of the Royal Family, according to reports.
An insider claimed that King Charles had “no time in his diary” to meet Harry, according to the Mail, while the relationship between the Duke and his brother William remains strained since the publication of his tell-all memoir Spare.
