The Duchess of Edinburgh received a warm reception during her visit to The Lighthouse charity in Woking, Surrey, with organisers expressing they were "honoured" to host their royal patron.
Sophie visited the organisation's temporary premises as preparations continue for a new permanent headquarters in the town.
"We were delighted to welcome Her Royal Highness and share the progress being made," a charity spokesman said.
The Lighthouse provides assistance to individuals experiencing hardship, poverty and social isolation, and the duchess serves as the organisation's patron.

The charity will soon move into Albion House, situated opposite Woking's railway station, during the construction of its long-term home.
For 15 years, The Lighthouse has served the Woking community, offering vital support to those in need.
The organisation operates additional centres in Guildford, Aldershot and Barnsbury.
Development firm JRL Group is collaborating with the charity to establish the new premises as part of a broader high street regeneration project.
"The Lighthouse will be an integral part" of this wider transformation, according to the spokesperson.
The temporary Woking base at Albion House is expected to open later this month.

A spokesman described the partnership as "a significant step forward for The Lighthouse and for the people we support, ensuring our services can continue and grow as part of Woking's redevelopment."
During her visit, the duchess expressed gratitude to volunteers who were busy packing up the charity's current high street location ahead of the move.
Sophie toured the new space, which is currently undergoing refurbishment work.

The royal also held discussions with architects and engineers from JRL Group regarding the development plans.
The spokesman noted that "the conversation explored how the redevelopment will strengthen the charity's ability to support vulnerable people in the community, while embedding social value at the heart of Woking's town centre regeneration."
The project reflects "a shared commitment to community, compassion, and long-term positive impact," they added, ensuring the charity maintains "a sustainable and prominent place within the town's future."

Following the engagement, The Lighthouse shared images on social media showing Sophie alongside the charity's volunteers, noting their patron had visited "to meet and think volunteers who are packing up our beloved building."
