Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been seen for the first time since the release of the Epstein files, in which the former prince was pictured lying across five women's laps.

The former Duke of York was spotted with a serious expression as he drove his Land Rover Defender out of Royal Lodge.

Andrew looked glum inside his vehicle, wearing a beige jacket and keeping a hat on the dashboard.

His outing comes after the release of an image showing the former prince dressed in a full suit on the women, while convicted sex offender Ghislaine Maxwell looked down on him, inside Queen Elizabeth II's late cherished residence, Sandringham House.

A friend dismissed the black-and-white photo, calling the image "hijinks".

"We don't see what the problem is. It's just hijinks at a party. He's fully clothed," they told The Telegraph.

Andrew's presence at the estate with Maxwell raises questions about the extent to which royal properties may have been used during his association with Epstein.

The identities of the women pictured alongside Andrew in the photograph have been redacted in the Department of Justice (DoJ) release.

The image formed part of thousands of records from Epstein's estate made available on the DoJ website on Friday, potentially illuminating further details of the alleged friendship between the former prince and the late financier.

Andrew's connection to Epstein was already well documented when the financier pleaded guilty in 2008 to soliciting sex from a minor.

The former royal became legally entangled in 2015 when Virginia Giuffre named him in a lawsuit against Epstein, alleging she was trafficked to him at age 17 and forced into three sexual encounters.

Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing, and his appearance in the image does not suggest any misconduct.

It is unclear when the black-and-white picture was taken.

US President Donald Trump signed a bill from Congress demanding the release of all the files in the early hours of Thursday, November 20.

This move set a 30-day countdown for the DoJ to publish them.

Thousands of files have been released; however, the DoJ has not published all of the documents it holds.

Many of the files have been heavily redacted to protect victims' identities.

Elsewhere in the trove of unearthed files is an image of former US President Bill Clinton, who was seen side-by-side with the sex predator.

Another image shows him making use of what appears to be the paedophile financier's swimming pool with Maxwell.

Maxwell is also spotted visiting No10 Downing Street, with an image showing her outside the Prime Minister's office.
