“I honestly believe that America will move towards a form of monarchy. I know it sounds kind of crazy and I think it might take many decades.

“But ultimately, I think that is a trajectory.”

It comes after a poll in August suggested the US’ most popular public figure is Prince William.

The Gallup survey asked Americans for their views on 15 public figures who are prominent in the news.

The Prince of Wales came out ahead of the likes of Donald Trump and Volodymr Zelensky.

He emerged as the strongest candidate with 59 per cent of respondents saying the viewed him favourably.

The list also included US President Joe Biden, First Lady Jill Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made a name for themselves in America through living there since 2020.

The couple have released a spate of media productions through giant streaming services Netflix and Spotify.
