The Health Secretary spoke to GB News amid an ongoing 'racism' row between Labour and Reform UK

Wes Streeting sensationally accused Nigel Farage of being racist this morning in an explosive GB News row.

The Health Secretary swiped at the Reform UK leader for a leaflet distributed in Scotland earlier this year.

In May, Reform UK posted an online video ahead of a by-election in South Lanarkshire, featuring text which read: "Anas Sarwar has said he will prioritise the Pakistani community."

Reform has insisted the advert was "not racist" and said it had "no plans" to remove it.

Citing a leaflet that was sent out during a Scottish by-election by Reform UK, Mr Streeting claimed it suggested that Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar would "prioritise the interests of the Pakistani community".

The Labour Minister explained: "I don't have a window into Nigel's soul, but I did see the leaflet that Reform put out in a by-election in Scotland that basically said that Anas Sarwar would prioritise the interests of the Pakistani community and Pakistanis living in the in the country.

"And why was that? Well, because as well as being a proud Scot, Anas is also of proud Pakistani heritage, and I thought that was a racist leaflet, I really did, and it went out in Reform's name."

Calling out Mr Farage on the matter, Mr Streeting told GB News: "If Nigel Farage doesn't agree with that, why did he let it go out? And if he did agree with that, well, what does that make him?"

Offering a defence for the Reform UK leader, GB News host Eamonn Holmes argued: "The guy can highlight Scottish-ness, he can highlight his party's interest, he can highlight Pakistani interest, that just seems legitimate. I don't see that as necessarily racist?"

Hitting back at Eamonn, Mr Streeting fumed: "Oh come on, I honestly just thought it was basically saying he's not one of us, he's going to stand up for them, not for you, and I thought we'd left that kind of politics behind in our country.

Defending accusations that Britons who have "legitimate concerns" for illegal migration and controlling Britain's borders are "racists", Mr Streeting said he "disagrees" with those who make such claims.

The Health Secretary stated: "I want this to be a country where people can express their concerns and can speak up and can exercise free speech.

"I don't think the people, for example, concerned about the security of our borders, the small boats or levels of legal, let alone illegal migration in our country are racist. I don't think that at all."

However, Mr Streeting declared there "is racism" in Britain, which should be "called out".

He concluded: "But we do have racism in our country and where we see it, we've got to call it out. I don't want to turn the clock back."
