Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin have reached an agreement to meet in the coming days, according to a Kremlin aide.
A venue for the meeting is expected to be announced later today with both parties beginning work on the finer details of the meeting, IFAX reports which cited aide Yuri Ushakov.
The agreement comes after the US President said there was a "good chance" of a leaders' summit between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Putin.

It would be their first meeting since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine.
The expected face-to-face meeting would also be the first between a sitting US and Russian President since Joe Biden met with Putin in Geneva in June 2021.
It was about eight months before Russia launched the biggest attack on a European country since World War II.
In televised comments, Ushakov, a former Russian ambassador to the US, said the meeting would be in the "coming days".
He added that "we are now beginning concrete preparations together with our American colleagues".

| GETTYMeanwhile, Trump spoke on his envoy Steve Witkoff's meeting with Putin in Moscow.
He said Witkoff made "great progress".
"Everyone agrees this war must come to a close," Trump said.
"We will work towards that in the days and weeks to come."
However, doubt remains about a three-way meeting, including Trump, Putin and Zelensky.
"As for a three-way meeting, which for some reason Washington was talking about yesterday, this was just something mentioned by the American side during the meeting in the Kremlin," Ushakov said.
"But this was not discussed.
"The Russian side left this option completely without comment."
As talks continue, at least six civilians died in Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day, local media cited regional authorities as saying.
A further 35 people were left injured in the attacks.
Ukraine's Air Force said Russia had launched 112 Shahed-type attack drones and decoy drones overnight.
The Ukrainian President is set to speak to Germany, France and Italy in a bid to discuss steps towards peace.
Zelensky said he planned to discuss a ceasefire, a leaders' summit and the country's long-term security.
