The President had earlier raged at how he 'inherited a war that should never have happened' in a vicious social media post

The United States and Ukraine are locked in crunch talks in Geneva going into Monday in a bid to finally end the war with Russia.

With a Thursday deadline looming, the pair are trying to thrash out a peace plan after agreeing to modify an earlier proposal widely seen as too favorable to Moscow.

In a joint statement, they said they had drafted a "refined peace framework", with the White House separately saying Ukraine had confirmed it "reflects their national interests" and "addresses their core strategic requirements".

But it remains unclear exactly how the plan will guarantee Ukraine's security against Vladimir Putin's menace.

The talks have found themselves at the centre of a furious international spat - with Donald Trump blasting Ukraine for showing "zero gratitude" for America's support.

In a vicious social media post, the President said: "I INHERITED A WAR THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED, A WAR THAT IS A LOSER FOR EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY THE MILLIONS OF PEOPLE THAT HAVE SO NEEDLESSLY DIED.

"UKRAINE 'LEADERSHIP' HAS EXPRESSED ZERO GRATITUDE FOR OUR EFFORTS, AND EUROPE CONTINUES TO BUY OIL FROM RUSSIA."

As a result, GB News is asking: Is Donald Trump right to say Ukraine has "zero gratitude" for US peace plans?
