Former First Lady Michelle Obama has revealed she is currently in therapy to help navigate her life transition at the age of 60.
The revelation came during recent appearances on the podcast circuit, where she has been promoting her own podcast with her brother, Craig Robinson.
Speaking on The Jay Shetty Podcast, Michelle opened up about entering a new phase of her life as an "empty nester" now that her daughters have "been launched".
She said: "At this phase of my life, I'm in therapy right now because I'm transitioning, you know? I'm 60 years old, I've finished a really hard thing in my life with my family intact."

Michelle explained that she now has "other voices" to talk to and a "new person that's getting to know me" as she works through this transition.
Being out of public service has significantly shifted her decision-making process, as she reflects on no longer having external factors dictating her choices.
"I now don't have the excuse of, 'my kids need this' or 'my husband needs that' or 'the country needs that,'" Michelle said.
She explained she's using it to "unwind some old habits" and "sort through some old guilt", while also focusing on her relationship with her mother.
She said: "I'm getting that tune-up for this next phase because I believe this is a whole other phase in life for me.
"And I now have the wisdom to know - let me go get some coaching while I'm doing it."
The former First Lady also encouraged others to seek mental health support.
She explained: "I am an advocate of it. Everybody needs to find their form of it, the best way they can."
