The former First Lady took a step away from her husband’s political campaign after he left the White House

Melania Trump has been tipped to return to the campaign trail as her popularity exceeds Jill Biden’s ahead of the upcoming election.

The former First Lady made a rare public appearance on Tuesday alongside her husband Donald Trump as the couple vlted in Florida’s Republican primary race.

Melania appeared to tease her return to the political frontline, telling political reporters: “Stay tuned.”

Strategists hope her involvement in the 45th President’s third successive White House bid could prove decisive.

The 53-year-old has been absent from her husband’s campaign since the ex-Commander-in-Chief launched his bid in November 2022.

She also skipped his election night way party earlier this month on Super Tuesday at the couple’s Mar-a-Lago home.

The couple were not spotted together at any of his many court appearances as 88 charges for four separate cases threaten to throw his bid into turmoil.

Donald has also hinted at his wife returning to the political frontline, confirming last year she would “pretty soon”.

He added: “She’s a private person, a great person, a very confident person, and she loves our country very much.

“And honestly, I like to keep her away from it. It’s so nasty and so mean.”

Melania reportedly was focusing on raising her son Barron ahead of his graduation from high school in the Sunshine State later this year.

However, the former First Lady has attended some public events since her husband left the White House.

She even spoke at the naturalisation ceremony at the National Archives in Washington in December.

An opinion poll conducted last year has shown that Melania is popular than her successor Jill.

A staggering 31 per cent said Joe Biden’s second wife is “poor” or “below average”, compared with just 25 per cent who described her as “outstanding” and 28 per cent who labelled her “average”.

Jill's net approval previously stood at 30 per cent after her husband’s inauguration in January 2021.

Melania’s net approval dipped throughout the 45th President’s stint in the White House, ending up at -5 per cent in January 2020.
