Donald Trump has said he is considering deporting Elon Musk after the two fell out over the "big, beautiful bill".

The US President warned he might unleash Doge on the Tesla founder, adding that it could "eat Elon."

When asked on Tuesday about deporting Musk, Trump responded: "I don't know. We'll have to take a look."

The President added: "We might have to put Doge on Elon. You know what Doge is? Doge is the monster that might have to go back and eat Elon."

Trump's comments came after he criticised the Tesla and SpaceX CEO following Musk's opposition to the President's "one big, beautiful bill."

The relationship between the two men has soured dramatically, with Musk becoming a vocal critic of Trump's signature legislation.

Musk, an American citizen born in South Africa, has criticised the legislation for its cuts to electric vehicle subsidies and for increasing the country's deficit.

His complaints emerged as the Senate reached over 20 hours of debate on the bill, which was expected to receive a final vote on Tuesday.

Trump dismissed Musk's criticism and warned: "He could lose a lot more than that. Elon could lose a lot more than that."

Speaking to reporters on the South Lawn before leaving for Florida, Trump said: "Elon is not getting his mandate. He wanted an electric mandate and he should have known. I wouldn't do that. I couldn't do that. I campaigned to this thing for two years."

The US President also expressed regret about his Tesla purchase, saying: "Not everybody wants an electric car. I don't want an electric car."

Trump had purchased a red Tesla in March after turning the South Lawn into a Tesla showroom to support Musk, who was then head of the Department of Government Efficiency.

Their feud intensified as Musk used X to criticise the bill during Senate debates.

Trump wrote on Truth Social: "Elon Musk knew, long before he so strongly endorsed me for President, that I was strongly against the EV Mandate."

He suggested Musk's government benefits could end, writing that without subsidies: "Elon would probably have to close up shop and head back home to South Africa."

Musk responded by threatening to establish a new political party, writing on X: "If this insane spending bill passes, the America Party will be formed the next day."

He warned that nearly all House and Senate Republicans, "will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth."
