President Donald Trump has issued a fiery Christmas message to millions of Americans, including "the radical left scum" destroying the country.

Posting on Truth Social, the US President extended his seasonal greetings to the country from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.

The message, shared on Wednesday night during a private Christmas Eve dinner at the West Palm Beach club, was wide-ranging and blew the trumpet of his success since coming into office.

"Merry Christmas to all, including the Radical Left Scum that is doing everything possible to destroy our Country, but are failing badly," Trump wrote.

"We no longer have Open Borders, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, or Weak Law Enforcement.

"What we do have is a Record Stock Market and 401K’s, Lowest Crime numbers in decades, No Inflation, and yesterday, a 4.3 GDP, two points better than expected.

"Tariffs have given us Trillions of Dollars in Growth and Prosperity, and the strongest National Security we have ever had.

"We are respected again, perhaps like never before. God Bless America!!! President DJT"

Before posting his Christmas message, Trump participated in the traditional Norad Santa tracking programme, fielding telephone calls from children across America.

The president chose to conduct the conversations via speakerphone, allowing journalists present at Mar-a-Lago to observe the exchanges.

When one young caller enquired about avoiding coal in their stocking, Trump quipped in response: "You mean 'clean, beautiful coal.'"

Chuckling, he continued: "Coal is clean and beautiful, please remember that, at all costs."

A girl from North Carolina prompted laughter from the President with her query about the consequences of failing to leave milk and biscuits for Father Christmas.

Trump addressed the young girl's concern about the milk and biscuits by suggesting Father Christmas would experience disappointment rather than anger.

"I think he won't get mad, but I think he'll be very disappointed. You know Santa, he tends to be a little bit on the cherubic side. You know what that means? You're big, a little on the heavy side," Trump responded.

"I think Santa would like some cookies. I think Santa has a serious appetite."

During another conversation with a child from Oklahoma, Trump discussed the tracking operation's purpose.

"We track Santa all over the world. We want to make sure that Santa is being good," he explained, adding: "We want to make sure that he's not infiltrating — that we're not infiltrating into our country a band Santa.

"So we found out that Santa is good. Santa loves you."
