A Colorado Attorney has defended the Supreme Court's landmark ruling this week, after former US President Donald Trump was disqualified from running for the 2024 election.
This week, The Colorado Supreme Court implemented Section 3 of the US Constitution's 14th Amendment for the very first time, ruling against Trump.
The decision comes as a result of the insurrection over the US Capitol riots in January 2021.
After winning the vote 4-3, the justices stated that they "do not reach these conclusions lightly", and are "mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us".

Reacting to the disqualification, Donald Trump hit out at current President Joe Biden, accusing him of being "crooked".
Trump said at a rally this week: "It's no wonder crooked Joe Biden and the far left lunatics are desperate to stop us by any means necessary.
"They are willing to violate the US Constitutions at levels never seen before in order to win this election. Joe Biden is a threat to democracy."
Speaking to GB News, Attorney for Petitioners in Colorado 14th Amendment Case, Eric Olson said there are "a number of qualifications" within the US Constitution.
Olson explained: "Our Constitution has a number of qualifications. You have to be born in America, you have to be at least 35 years old. This is just a similar qualification.
"We could not elect Tony Blair, Taylor Swift or Arnold Schwarzenegger to be our President. This is a similar qualification.
"It ensures that the person who is standing for election and may become President meets the constitutional qualifications. It enables our democracy to thrive, It is not anti-democratic."
GB News host Patrick Christys then asked Olson why the state of Colorado specifically chose to use to amendment to disqualify Trump.

Olson revealed: "Colorado, under the Federal Constitution, the states have broad latitude in how they pick their President.
"And Colorado has procedures that allow for a court to determine whether a candidate is eligible.
"So we used those procedures under state law to demonstrate that Donald Trump was not qualified to be on the ballot."
