A convicted foreign paedophile was let loose on the streets of the capital on a busy Friday night

On Friday night, Sir Keir Starmer and David Lammy were quick to issue furious statements following the news that Epping hotel migrant sex offender Hadush Kebatu had been mistakenly freed.

Mr Lammy said he was "livid and appalled".

Sir Keir said: "The mistaken release at HMP Chelmsford is totally unacceptable. I am appalled that it has happened and it’s being investigated."

But Kebatu's release has sparked sheer incredulity, with Nigel Farage declaring "Britain is broken" and Kemi Badenoch warning how "the entire system is collapsing under Labour".

The Home Office vows that the first duty of the Government is to "keep citizens safe and the country secure".

But with a convicted foreign paedophile let loose on the streets of the capital on a busy Friday night, GB News is asking: Has this Government failed in its main duty to protect citizens and keep borders secure?
