"We believe the public should also have the democratic right to express when they’ve lost trust in those elected to lead," Mr Hopkin said.

"We voted for a party based on promises made before the General Election, yet we feel none have been delivered - in fact, the opposite has happened.

"We think being given this right would strengthen accountability, uphold democratic values, and ensure the Government remains answerable not just to Parliament, but to the people it serves."

The landmark poll has now reached more than 100,000 signatures.

After crossing this threshold, it must be considered for a parliamentary debate.

But with just over a month remaining until the petition closes, Labour has said it has "no plans" to give British voters the right to oust their Government on a whim.

Around the UK, voters in Reform UK and Tory constituencies are the most likely to back the poll.

Some 373 Britons have signed the petition in Sir James Cleverly's Braintree seat - the most of any in the country.

Meanwhile, 367 and 339 people have signed up in Reform UK top brass Nigel Farage and Richard Tice's constituencies.

Just 40 people, however, have added their signatures in Sir Keir Starmer's central London seat.

Nes of the no confidence poll passing 100,000 came just as another damning petition crossed the same milestone.

That petition, which is the third launched calling for a snap poll since Labour came to power in July 2024, is yet to receive a response from the Government.

But in response to the no confidence poll, the Cabinet Office said: "The Government holds office by virtue of being able to command the confidence of the House of Commons, whose members are elected by the public. There are no plans to change these arrangements.

"In our parliamentary democracy, a Government holds office by virtue of its ability to command the confidence of the House of Commons, the membership of which is chosen by the electorate in a General Election.

"It is through their votes, and through their Members of Parliament, that the voice of the electorate can be heard.

"Voters are able to make representations to their MPs, who in turn represent the views and interests of their constituents in Parliament.

"There are no plans to change these arrangements.

"This Government is focused on renewing Britain’s future. We know that for working people that means more money in their pockets, rebuilding our NHS, and strengthening our borders.

"That’s why, through our plan for change, we’ve kick-started the economic growth needed to turn these commitments into reality.

"We know there’s plenty more to do, but with the foundations fixed, the work of securing Britain’s future can begin."
