The graph shows Reform UK overturning a 7.7 per cent Labour majority in just over two weeks

Pressure continues to mount on Sir Keir Starmer as three graphs show how quickly Reform UK took Labour's stronghold in Runcorn & Helsby.

The graph shows three dates in the build-up to the by-election, illustrating how Reform overturned a 13.2 per cent majority in just over two months.

It states that on March 10, Labour boasted a 42.7 per cent majority, to Reform's 29.4 per cent.

By May 15, Reform established a clear majority, with Sarah Pochin being handed a boost just one month after being elected at the start of the month.

The graph is a stark warning to Starmer, whose Labour Party suffered heavy defeats in recent council elections, with Nigel Farage's Reform UK now having 10 out of 23 councils.

Reform now boasts five MPs in the House of Commons after Pochin won in Runcorn and Helsby by six votes.

Speaking on GB News, Pochin was asked why locals are turning to Reform in an area that has traditionally been a Labour stronghold.

She said: "Immigration is massive here. Runcorn feels like a dumping ground for illegal immigrants. We've had the Derby Hotel. We've got houses and multiple occupancy, it's a big issue.

"People feel unsafe on the streets in certain parts of the constituency because of that. That's definitely something, and as you know, it's very much part of our agenda to tackle that problem."

A new poll from YouGov shows that mass uncontrolled immigration is now the number one issue for the British people.

GB News presenter Matt Goodwin explained: "50 per cent of voters now say immigration is a top issue for them. A higher percentage than the number who say the economy.

"This represents the highest level of public concern about immigration since the vote for Brexit back in 2016, and let's be honest, it's not hard to see why."

Reform leader Nigel Farage said that his party "are now the opposition to the Labour Party".

Following the declaration of votes at the Runcorn & Helsby by-election, Farage said: "What it sends is a message not just from here but across the country that we are now the opposition to the Labour Party, who are in Government, and actually in most parts of the country now, if you vote Conservative, you get Labour."

Research conducted by Electoral Calculus suggests Reform UK would hoover up 427 seats if Runcorn's 17 per cent swing was emulated in a General Election.

After the by-election, a Labour Party spokesman appeared to focus on the lack of Conservative votes, as opposed to the Reform success.

He said: "While Labour has suffered an extremely narrow defeat, the shock is that the Conservative vote has collapsed."
