He also visited other local establishments, including The Greek and Codgers of Clacton.

"And just going out, round the community, and feeling very much that they were actually very pleased for the local MP to make the effort, to come to see them.
"And to FC Clacton, where lots and lots of screaming kids were looking forward to a really big sit-down meal.
"A lot of those kids, foster kids, et cetera, and for them to all be together. And wasn't it joyous?

Meanwhile, Tory leader Kemi Badenoch revealed the past 13 months have exposed her to the "biggest challenge of my life".
She added: “Christmas is a chance to reflect on the year that's been, be grateful for the good things, mourn what we may have lost, and look forward to what we are going to do in the coming year.
“With that in mind, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has supported me during my first year as Leader of the Opposition."
However, Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey struck a different tone, taking aim at "right-wing conspiracy theorists" for criticising the Norwegian spruce erected at Trafalgar Square.
