The individual has been told to leave his Pakistani hotel in the next two weeks

A former Afghan interpreter who was listed on a leaked dataset is among six people who made their way into Pakistan for a flight to Britain, only to be told they were unable to make the trip.

The individuals were accepted for sanctuary in the UK after serving with British trips during Nato's 20-year Afghanistan operation.

They made the perilous journey past Taliban checkpoints to Islamabad, some of them having waited two years, living in a hotel.

However, they were told they were no longer eligible after Home Office checks.

The people have been given two weeks to leave and face a return to the Taliban-controlled Afghanistan.

A former frontline interpreter who helped British troops in Helmand for two years is named on the leaked dataset - which was the subject of the super injunction lifted last month, according to The Times.

Personal information, including his phone number and email address, could have made its way to the Taliban, if the group managed to get hold of the list which the Ministry of Defence (MoD) said was possible.

The Government said "security reasons" was the reason for the change of decision.

Sources told The Times they were unable to explain why they were allowed to leave their homes and risk their lives, alongside their families, without having complete basic checks first.

This isn't the first time the MoD has cited "security reasons".

It saw the reversal of an offer of sanctuary in the UK for an Afghan interpreter.

However, the US let the man in.

Tensions are high in Pakistan as the Government appears to be fed up with the amount of Afghans who are waiting to travel to the UK.

Pakistan wasn't made aware of the Uk Government's secret plan to use the country as a transit route for bringing thousands of Afghans into the UK.

It was also kept in the dark about the super injunction.

Dozens of Afghans who were eligible to come to Britain were this week taken from their hotel to the Haji camp for refugees.

One Afghan detailed the camp as “hell”.

The people were told they would be deported on trucks to the border.

Some of them managed to escape and have gone missing as they were fearing for their lives.

They have pleaded to the UK for help.

The individual who was named on the leaked database, who is due to be sent back to Afghanistan, spent almost two years in a Pakistani hotel with his family, waiting for a UK visa.

He was told by the Home Office it was turned down for unexplained reasons and his offer of sanctuary under the Afghan Relocation and Assistance Policy was going to be withdrawn.

The person was served with notice by the British High Commission to leave his hotel in Islamabad within the next 14 days.

GB News has contacted the Home Office for comment.
