It has been over a month since Siobhan Whyte, the mother of Rhiannon Whyte, who was murdered by an illegal migrant, first shared her story with GB News.
She bravely joined me the other day to update us on her campaign for justice and answers.“I feel like giving up some days. Obviously, I would, but in Rhiannon’s name, I don’t want to give up.” Siobhan told me. For a moment, I didn’t know what to say, what to think, what to do.“Stop the cameras, please!” raced through my mind.
I just wanted to stop everything, hug her, and tell her it would be okay. But I knew that wouldn’t be true. Nothing I could say would take away the pain she felt.
Frankly, how could I even begin to understand what she was going through? My heart and mind were at war, but one thing was certain: Siobhan's words had to be heard.
Everyone in Britain needs to understand the real human cost of the illegal migrant crisis, how it is destroying families like Siobhan’s up and down the country.
That’s sometimes the hardest part of my job: knowing that in moments like that, the most important thing I can do is stay as quiet as possible, even when my heart tells me otherwise.

For a family suffering so greatly from a crisis abetted by political inaction, one would expect victims to receive unending support from our leaders.
Sadly, and unsurprisingly, that is not the case. No phone calls, no messages, no outreach at all.
Even after writing twice to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and despite Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips’ public flaunting of her credentials on violence against women, Siobhan has been met with total silence. She deserves answers, accountability, and action.
Our politicians shame us all when they fail to show basic humanity in the face of such loss, especially one caused by a crisis they are overseeing.
Near the end of our conversation, she spoke quietly about her plans to establish a foundation in Rhiannon’s name to support families and children.
I reassured her that all of us at GB News, staff, members, listeners, and viewers, would stand with her. She should not and will not have to face this alone.
Her courage, bravery and determination in the face of such devastation are profound. I know she will continue fighting in Rhiannon’s name, not just for her family, but for the whole country, and we will be with her every step of the way.
