Patrick Christys's migrant exposé confirms a deluded halfwit is all that stands between us and hell - Carole Malone

But GB News’ very own Patrick Christys showed just how easy it is to do this week.

He went to Calais and, in one day and uncovered three people smugglers in one day. Within hours of getting there, he’d talked to them, met them, had their faces on camera and was able to identify their locations, all of which he handed to the security services and French police.

Now, if Patrick, armed with just a TV camera and a smartphone, can identify three in one day, just imagine how many our security services - M15, M16 and other intelligence resources - could have rounded up this past year?

Patrick has proved what we all knew - that Starmer hasn’t the wit but, most importantly, the will, to smash the gangs.

It’s just a line he trots out to make it look like he’s doing something about illegal immigration when he’s doing nothing.

Well, actually, he is doing something. He’s managing to make himself look like a deluded halfwit by putting out videos like the one last month, where he told us in all seriousness that he’s controlling our borders and working “with our international allies to smash the smuggling gangs for good”.

And it’s when he says stuff like that you realise, he’s either not very well or he believes all British people are morons.

Why else would he say he’s securing our borders when it’s clear to anyone with half a brain he’s not. Every day we see increasing numbers teeming onto our shores - proof positive that he’s absolutely not controlling our borders.

Since his dopey Government came to power last July, more than 38,000 have arrived in small boats. In the last six months alone, 15,000 have come, when at the same time last year, it was just 10,448.

So how the hell is that securing our borders when more are arriving in Britain every day? And if you look at the people Patrick discovered in those Calais camps – their uncontrolled aggression, their willingness to hurt people, the fact they know they’re breaking in those Calais camps – their uncontrolled aggression, their willingness to hurt people, the fact they know they’re breaking the law in trying to get to the UK but don’t care – it’s clear that by allowing them to come we’re importing a whole load of trouble for this country because they just don’t fit in with our culture or our values.

What I saw in those camps wasn’t sad, desperate people fleeing war and persecution; it was angry, aggressive people- almost exclusively men - who just want a better, easier life and believe the British taxpayers should give it to them.

It was clear those people in Calais are never going to contribute anything useful to this country. But still Starmer allows them to come.

But of course, what Patrick’s film made crystal clear was why they’re so desperate to get here from France.

It’s because Macron gives them next to nothing. They live in tents, in filthy, dirty old warehouses where literally hundreds of them bed down every day.

So, of course, they want to come here knowing they’ll be put into three- and four-star hotels, get three meals a day, their laundry’s done, they get pocket money, days out, free healthcare, free education, free everything.

Why doesn’t Starmer get it - when you offer poor people untold riches, they’re going to come and claim them. And they’re going to keep coming until someone has the guts to stop them. And that’s not Starmer.

But the other reason smashing the gangs won’t ever stop the people smugglers is that even when they’re caught, the punishment is derisory.

In May this year, two Afghan smugglers, who piloted a Channel boat with 70 migrants, were stopped by a French patrol craft which discovered a dead woman and child aboard. And guess what, it allowed the boat to continue to Britain.

Those two men got a piddling eight months in jail for bringing in 70 migrants – two of them dead.

What the hell kind of deterrent is that? It should have been eight years, not eight months, because that kind of sentence just might deter traffickers. A few months will not.

So just as there is no deterrent for migrants, there is no deterrent for the vile traffickers bringing them here either.

But of course, illegal immigration could be stopped in its tracks. All we’d have to do is leave the ECHR and withdraw from the 1951 Refugee Convention, which would take away our legal obligation to allow asylum claims.

People could then be immediately put into detention centres to await deportation.

The Tories already had a law in place to do that, which meant anyone arriving here illegally couldn’t stay or claim asylum.

But Labour scrapped that the minute it got into power, just as it did Rwanda – hence the reason the floodgates have now opened in a way that is literally going to destroy this country.,

We pay one billion a month in benefits to foreign nationals. And every migrant who applies for asylum costs us £41,000 a year while their claim is being processed. That’s billions every year, which this country simply cannot afford.

Yet we have Prime Minister who wants to care for the world’s poor and disenfranchised, even though they’ll bring nothing to this country, even though they are bankrupting it, even though foreign nationals commit a quarter of all sex crimes here, even though they attack young British women and girls in our streets within days of getting here.

And all because he and the liberal elite keep sanctifying asylum seekers who aren’t really asylum seekers - just people from poor countries see Britain as El Dorado.

Well, we’re sick of it. Nigel Farage said it last week- this country cannot be a charity for the rest of the world. And he’s right.

And Starmer needs to understand that his weakness, his inaction, his sticking two fingers up at the British people over their concerns about illegal immigration – will hugely backfire.

Starmer and his ilk actually believe those parents in Epping who have taken to the streets to protest about the asylum seeker who allegedly committed three sex offences within days of arriving at a hotel there (one of them on a young girl), are racist and anti-immigrant.

No, they’re just terrified Mums and Dads who want to protect their kids and who feel helpless in the face of a Prime Minister who’d rather protect foreign sex criminals than sexually abused British kids.

And that makes him not our leader - but our country’s shame.
