How are your bins?
Full, I imagine, awaiting that bi-weekly collection that finally comes when they are a bit too whiffy and the neighbourhood foxes are circling.
How’s that pothole on the road going into town?
You know, that one that got you a £200 bill at the garage when your car went into it a few months ago.
Still not filled in?
It doesn’t surprise me.
That graffiti outside the railway station still not been cleaned off?
No.

Yes.
Had your council tax bill cut?
No.
Have your energy bills come down?
No.
Has your weekly shop gone up another £5-10 since last weekend?
Look at that receipt today - the answer is probably ‘yes.’

Energy prices have soared
| GETTYI share your pain; I’ll do what I usually do this weekend when I feel particularly hopeless after looking at my shopping bill and buy a Lottery Lucky Dip.
As you can probably tell by the mood I’m writing this in, my numbers haven’t yet come up.
And it doesn’t look like the country is in line to hit the jackpot any time soon either.
Reasonable British people like you and me are known for our patience.
In fact, it’s taken for granted by those who run our town halls and national government.
But it’s about to snap.
Millions of you went out and voted for things to change just over a week ago.
It was the second year in a row where local election results clearly registered the deep unhappiness of people in towns and cities across Britain.
But after last year’s vote what happened?
I’ll tell you.
Nothing. Got. Any. Better.
It’s only been a few days since you went to the polls this time around, but this year it seems things are quickly getting even worse.
They certainly haven’t sorted out the bins.
Indeed, the people who make up our governing party have listened to the country and decided to solve our problems by having a collective nervous breakdown.
Instead of starting to look out for us - as the results clearly told them to do - they’re looking out for themselves.
And they’ve decided they are going to choose our new future leader themselves.
Birmingham bin workers have been on an all-out strike since last March | PAThe choice currently appears limited.
Firstly, we have a man who magically transformed his somewhat underwhelming political reputation by swapping wearing a suit and tie in two previous Labour governments for baggy bottomed black jeans and a shacket in Manchester.
The so-called ‘King of the North', who loves the people of Manchester so much he’s prepared to drop them in an instant for what seems - at best - a shot at six months as Prime Minister.
Then we have a man who has got the NHS into such good working order that over 94,000 people are still waiting for care after a year - if they manage to wait just another 10 months, they’ll have lasted as long as he was Health Secretary.
And finally, we have a former Deputy Prime Minister who we were told in September last year had failed to meet the “highest possible standards of proper conduct” under the Minister’s code.
Now she’s back in with a shout of the top job - presumably because she’s got a unique talent, that being the only person in history to have settled with the taxman without being left on hold for a year.
In the absence of a working political system the people of this country need to know they are being listened to.
It’s clear that our current political class aren’t doing that.
That’s why GB News is so important.
For the past five years we have been to only reliable place where you can speak.
More importantly, it’s the only place you are heard.
We know that you are a patriotic, hopeful, ambitious bunch who want the best for your family and your country and are being failed time and time again by the chaos and calamity that is served up by the British establishment.
The past two summers have seen disillusionment spill over into protest as people took to the streets to make their unhappiness heard.
We are sleeping walking into another summer of strife unless the shower in charge can get their act together.
I pray for that to happen – but I won’t hold my breath.
In the absence of any leadership GB News is always by your side.
I can’t promise we will empty your over-flowing bins (although we have a boss who would have us do that if he could) but we’ll always kick up a stink on your behalf.
We’ll keep doing it until the last scrap of rubbish is gone, until the graffitied walls are scrubbed clean, the smell of drugs has gone and the Jewish family down the road finally feel safe.
We call ourselves the People’s Channel for a reason and for five years we have kept our word.
Your voice is our voice.
With GB News it will always be heard.
