'The key for England winning the next test match will be the fitness of key bowlers'

I can’t wait for the fourth test, and it is going to be another exciting test match. What a series so far.

I think there's only been a 40 or 50 run difference between the two sides over the three test matches. And we could have won all three tests, so there’s really not a huge amount of difference between these two sides.

We will see a bit more pace and bounce at Old Trafford with the ball, and the ball will carry through which will suit Mark Wood down to the ground. But it will also bring the spinners into play.

I think it’s going to be a case of survival of the fittest because there’s not a lot of space between these test matches. We've seen Ollie Robinson going down. We've got Ben Stokes with a bad knee so we've got a lot of walking wounded. So it will really come down to whoever can get themselves fit and deliver on the pitch. But I sense this is going to be a cracking test match.

Can we win the series? Well, England likes to do things the hard way don’t they? But if we can come back and win 3-2 it truly will be an amazing achievement. It’s doable, because we've had chances to win all three test matches. We took our foot off the pedal in the first to win and let them get back into the game.

If this doesn’t drive people back to watch Test cricket then I don’t know what will. But we still have to win. And we still have to be successful. People are fickle and people need to see victories.

The key for England winning the next test match, I think, will be the fitness of key bowlers. Chris Woakes did a fantastic job at Headingley but again, how's his calf? We know that Wood is an absolute gem and he is a walk into any team. But he is injury prone, and he can't play in every test match. Hopefully he'll be fit because the extra pace and bounce will suit him down to the ground. He will be a huge tool for England.

And Ben Stokes, I mean his knee is a worry but Stokesy is Captain courageous, and another massive cog in our wheel. But Wood, for me, is the point of difference in our attack and it'll be amazing to see him fit and running again.

When I look at this current team there’s so many I’d love to play. Woody because of his character and the fact that he bowls so quick and scares the opposition. Ben Stokes, too, is such a positive character and a positive captain, so I'd love to play with him as well. But I think the person I'd most like to play alongside would be Joe Root, because he spends a lot of time batting. And when he's batting, it means I am not bowling!

There's so many great players on that side but Rooty, on form and scoring runs, just edges it for me. Being in a team with Rooty means I'm sitting in the changing room with my feet up doing absolutely nothing. Except for winding up my teammates.

I can’t wait to see how this fourth test plays out. Come on England!
