Millions of Tesco shoppers are being urged to check their Clubcard accounts immediately after Martin Lewis’s Money Saving Expert warned that £17million worth of vouchers will expire within days.
The consumer website issued the alert ahead of the May 31 deadline, when a large batch of Tesco Clubcard vouchers will become invalid at 11.59pm.
Tesco Clubcard vouchers remain valid for two years, meaning rewards issued during 2024 are now approaching their expiry date.
Money Saving Expert urged customers to review their balances and make use of any outstanding vouchers before they disappear.
Customers with paper vouchers can find the expiry date printed directly on them.
Those unsure whether they still have unused vouchers can also check online through Tesco’s website or via the supermarket’s mobile app.
To check online, shoppers need to visit the Tesco Clubcard page and sign into their Tesco.com account.
Customers can then select "Clubcard account" followed by "Vouchers" to view all available rewards and expiry dates.
Users will need their Clubcard number, which can be found on their physical card, key fob or digital Clubcard wallet.

The Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app also allows shoppers to check balances directly through the "Clubcard" and "Vouchers" sections.
Tesco customers can begin converting points into vouchers once they have collected at least 150 points.
Shoppers can convert points through the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app or via the "My Clubcard account" section on Tesco’s website.
Converted vouchers appear in customer accounts almost immediately.
Tesco also offers customers the option to increase the value of their vouchers through its Reward Partners scheme.

More than 100 companies participate in the programme
| TESCOMore than 100 companies participate in the programme, allowing shoppers to exchange Clubcard vouchers for double their face value on selected offers.
The scheme includes discounts and rewards on attractions, subscriptions and hotel stays including Alton Towers, Disney+ and Hotels.com.
Several restaurant chains including Pizza Express, Zizzi, Las Iguanas, ASK Italian and Bella Italia offer triple value through the scheme.
Under those offers, a £5 voucher can become £15 to spend at participating restaurants.
Money Saving Expert also highlighted a potential workaround for customers who are not yet ready to use their vouchers.
The method involves making a small purchase through the Tesco Clubcard Rewards website using part of an existing voucher.
For example, shoppers could spend 50p from a £5 voucher on a restaurant reward or charity donation.
The remaining balance is then returned to the customer’s account as a new voucher with a refreshed expiry date.
Money Saving Expert said: "We tested the trick at MoneySavingExpert.com Towers this week and it worked just fine".
However, the consumer website warned the approach may breach Tesco’s terms and conditions.
Tesco’s rules state orders may be refused if customers are found to be "abusing" the system by "redeeming Clubcard vouchers for the sole purpose of extending the life of the Clubcard points".
Customers attempting the method have been warned they do so at their own risk.
Each voucher would also need to be processed individually before the May 31 deadline passes.
