Today, the Prime Minister has confirmed that he will introduce digital ID here in Britain.

That’s right – Labour plans to force us all into carrying a digital form of identification, which they claim will help stop illegal working and therefore disincentivise illegal immigration.

Unsurprisingly, this has already caused widespread anger across the country.

With digital ID, the state can potentially control almost everything – they could have a peek at how much money is in your bank account, or monitor your carbon consumption, as they already do in dystopian states like China.

What if the state decides you’ve flown too often this year, and your carbon consumption needs to be reduced? No more holidays for you…

Sir Keir Starmer claims that digital ID will help tackle illegal migration, as it will weed out anyone not eligible to work in the UK.

This is utter madness. Those illegal migrants already working in the illicit jobs market are clearly working for employers who have no regard for their employment status, and who have failed to carry out the existing checks. How would digital ID change this at all?

Quite clearly, it would not. Only law-abiding citizens will be affected.

And this could just be the beginning… many people fear a slippery slope. Digital ID may not stop at curbing illegal immigration – it could easily be expanded to affect benefits, healthcare, banking, and so much more. And let’s not forget, our own Prime Minister was in favour of mandatory vaccine IDs, and even IDs for using the internet!

Digital ID is un-British. It is un-English. It is a creeping corrosion of our freedom. It is, put simply, not who we are.

So now, once again, we will need to remind our hapless politicians in Westminster about our history, our identity, and who we are.

We must say no to this blatant state overreach.

We must say no to the steady expansion of this censorship regime.

We must say no to the constant transferal of power and authority away from the people to unelected bureaucrats.

And we must say no to digital ID, the latest symbol of this authoritarian regime.

That’s why I fully support Nigel Farage’s and Reform’s call, today, to abolish digital ID if and when it is forced upon us.

It will now be up to the people to not only remind their politicians about Britain’s great history of liberty, but to step forward and defend this remarkable history, culture, and way of life from once again being thrown into the dustbin by a Labour Party that has never truly understood the country it claims to govern.
