Does the Prime Minister think we’re all terminally stupid?

Didn’t you just despise the way this useless, disingenuous Government trumpeted the fact that its throwing another £100billion at stopping the boats like it was something they should be congratulated for?

First, it’s our money they’re chucking at this latest crackdown, which in terms of stopping the boats will be about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

It’s a pointless plan that yet again is just tinkering around the edges of a problem; it's clear Keir Starmer has no idea how to solve. But he thinks it makes it look like he’s actually doing something - when he isn’t.

He put out the most ridiculous tweet this week: “I will use every tool at my disposal to secure our borders.”

Does he think we’re all terminally stupid? Doesn’t he understand that everyone sees he has totally lost control of our borders?

It’s why in towns and cities all over Britain decent, ordinary people have taken to the streets to protest about his Government’s incompetence in handling the immigration crisis. People have had enough of not being listened to.

They see a country that is failing to protect its women and children because it cares more about the foreign migrants who are coming here hell bent on abusing them.

And make no mistake, they are abusing them. Traffickers are reportedly luring people here from Syria, Sudan and Eritrea, showing them pictures and videos of scantily clad British women and telling them they’re all there for the taking.

It's hard to escape this conclusion. In Manchester, a Sudanese man allegedly tried to kidnap a 10-year-old girl from her father.

In Epping, an illegal migrant has been accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. And that’s just the ones we know about.

Yet instead of trying to solve the problem, instead of immediately deporting these alleged sex offenders, this Government and the police seem more concerned about “inflaming community tensions”.

I’m sorry, it’s not people in communities who are inflaming tensions, it’s this idiot Government, which is parachuting hordes of young, unidentified migrant males from vastly differing cultures into close-knit communities without permission from the people who live there and whose lives will be affected.

This scheme was never going to work mainly because it’s never going to reduce the numbers coming here, writes Carole Malone

That’s what is inflaming tensions. That’s what’s making decent people take to the streets because they’re terrified for their women and children.

And they have every right to be furious about what’s happening. Just this week, we saw jeering, laughing young men ensconced in a four-star London hotel leaning out of the window, taking videos on their phones (paid for by taxpayers’ cash, obviously laughing at the protestors outside. You can see why tensions might be inflamed by that.

One taxi driver this week, speaking on the radio, said he was being paid to drive young Afghan migrant men around in his cab. He said one of them told him: “You have your King, but now, we have your country.”

How chilling is that?

And this is why there are protests on the streets. This is why terrified Mums and Dads have said “enough” and have promised a summer of discontent.

And Starmer’s answer to all that? He throws another £100million of our money into a plan that won’t touch the sides of the problem.

Our joke of Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper, says the money will help facilitate the One in One out scheme. No, it won’t.

This scheme was never going to work mainly because it’s never going to reduce the numbers coming here. We’re just swapping one lot of illegals for another lot who have relatives here.

And anyone who thinks the 50 earmarked to go every week will ever actually go are as green as they are cabbage looking.

Greedy human rights lawyers here have already said the 50 chosen to leave will be able to lodge legal appeals as to why they should stay which means they will stay and the process to allow them to stay will cost us many more millions.

So, this much heralded scheme with France - which by the way expires in 11 months – means it will be sending over a whole load of people who have relatives here and we’ll be returning none.

We’re also told the £100million will help pay for up to 300 more National Crime Agency officers. Now if you think NCA officers are big burly blokes who’ll be stopping people coming here – think again.

They’re actually a bunch of civil servant- like people many of whom actually do come from the civil service.

Others are from the private sector, law enforcement, human resources, communications, some even straight from school. So, they have as much hope of stopping the boats as flying to the moon.

And when its website says: “The NCA values diversity and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment for all officers” you just know that these people will have zero effect on stopping boats.

They’re just a costly PR exercise to make this Government look like its doing something.

Yvette Cooper also says this £100million will help fast track the backlog of asylum claims. Another lie.

The backlog is being fast tracked because the Government is giving asylum to anyone who asks for it. In the year ending in March, it granted asylum to 99 per cent of migrants from Sudan, 98 per cent from Syria and 86 per cent from Eritrea – which is basically everyone.

Starmer now needs to stop this stupid mantra “We’ll smash the gangs”. Because after a year in office he hasn’t smashed a single one for the simple reason it’s actually an operational impossibility. It was just a phrase he used to con people to help him win the election.

He needs to forget the traffickers because they’re smarter and cleverer than his government will ever be – and concentrate on the actual migrants.

Which means he needs to stop the incentives for them coming here. Forget putting them in hotels - put them in big Gerry built detention centres away from towns and cities and most importantly away women and children. Stop their benefits and reinstate the law the Tories put in place (and Labour chucked out) which said people who come here illegally will be immediately deported.

And make it clear to anyone who arrives here without papers will also be deported.

All that would stop the problem in a heartbeat, and it would stop this useless Government throwing taxpayers’ money at silly schemes that are never going to work.

The only thing that will work now is deterrents. Starmer knows it but he’s too proud to reinstate the Rwanda scheme which was already working.

But for a man who clearly has no clue how to solve the problem which is engulfing this country you’d think he might at least have the sense to listen to other leaders - Trump and Macron to name just two - on immigration.

But he won’t. He just flounders on. The difference now is people have had enough of his idiocy, incompetency and his obduracy.
