Our useless, feckless, inept Home Office isn’t fit for purpose and needs to be scrapped! A bombshell new report says that billions of our hard-earned cash have been squandered on migrant hotels by people who couldn’t run you-know-what in a brewery.
The Home Office has more than 51,000 staff - and most of them don’t know which end is up, and more importantly, they don’t care. Because it’s not their money their squandering thanks to their incompetence and stupidity - it’s ours!
Remember this is the same Home Office where just two years ago, dopey civil servants had the brass neck to complain that they didn’t like the then Government’s asylum policy.
Apparently, they were embarrassed and ashamed of Suella Braverman’s tough stance on immigration and the reforms she wanted to make and whined that they were struggling to balance their own ethical convictions with the objectives of the government at the time.
Who the hell are these people? And what are they on? Do they actually imagine anyone gives a tuppenny damn what they think or what their ethical convictions are?
They’re just employees – and grossly incompetent ones at that - most of whom are so lazy they can’t be bothered to drag their backsides into the office to do the job they’re paid to do.
Why has no government had the guts to say to these incompetents - do what we tell you, enforce our policies, get into the office - or we’ll sack you. But of course, that doesn’t happen.
And it certainly hasn’t happened over immigration. These civil servants weren’t told their opinions didn’t matter; they weren’t hauled over the coals for trying to thwart the government’s immigration policy - they were just pandered to.
So, it’s no surprise that when you have a politicised workforce – one that’s clearly in favour of uncontrolled immigration - they aren’t going to bust a gut to impose reforms that’ll bring it under control.

But couple that with this Labour Government, which feels exactly the same way and has no clue how to control it, even if it wanted to, and you have what we have today.
Dame Karen Bradley, chairman of the select committee which has produced this explosive new report, says: “The Home Office has presided over a failing asylum accommodation system that has cost the taxpayers billions of pounds. “Its response to increasing demand has been rushed and chaotic.”
And while this is harsh, it doesn’t go anywhere near far enough in castigating this useless department. The report says it's “inexplicable” that these civil servants did no assessments on the impact migrant hotels would have on local areas before opening them – hence the vast numbers of sexual assaults that have been perpetrated upon women and young girls by the men living in them. Ditto the hugely increased numbers of robberies and violent crimes.
In 2019, the Home Office signed a ten-year contract with three firms for asylum accommodation, which was supposed to comprise self-catering flats and houses. Also, military sites.
The contracts were expected to cost £4.5billion over a decade. But officials now predict a whopping £15.3billion bill. And believe me, it’ll end up being more because Labour has lost total control of our borders.
Can you believe these hotels are costing £145 per migrant, per night, and currently we have 32,000 of them living in 200 hotels across the country at a cost of £2.1billion a year?
And when you discover the Home Office is so grossly incompetent that, since 2019, when those contracts were awarded to three main providers, those providers have made a net profit of £383million between them.
That's our money for god's sake!
And it's beyond outrageous that vast fortunes have been made by these three private companies on the backs of hard-up taxpayers because the Home Office couldn’t be bothered to monitor them or look into why so much money was being squandered.
It’s no wonder hordes of young migrant men from sub–Saharan Africa are risking life and limb to get here because they know when they do, they get to live a four-star hotel life that most hard-working Britons can’t.
Are these Home Office bods really so thick that it didn’t occur to them to check why the hotel budget estimates had rocketed from £4.5billion to £15.6billion?
But then, maybe when they’re working from home in front of the telly, little facts like taxpayers being ripped off to the tune of billions just don’t enter their empty heads. Or maybe they just don’t give a damn!
And just to add insult to injury, some of the individuals who have presided over this farce include Sir Phillip Rutnam, who resigned in February 2020, claiming constructive dismissal, yet still received a £340,000 settlement.
Then, as channel crossings exploded, he was succeeded by Sir Matthew Rycroft and guess what? This bozo chose to resign in March this year and got a £455,000 pay package, including a £20,000 bonus on top of his £200,000 salary plus a £50,000 exit payment and £179,000 in pension benefits for the year.
This is lunacy – a man who is clearly useless at his job - and probably resigned before he was fired - is rewarded for his abject incompetency with half a million quid of our money!
But it’s no wonder civil servants don’t give a toss about how they perform when there is no punishment, no reckoning for when they cock it up - only personal rewards and obscene pay-offs.
They get to walk away with their dignity intact and their heads held high when in the real world (the private sector), they wouldn’t qualify for a job in a charity shop.
It’s more than 20 years since the then Home Secretary, John Reid, declared that the Home Office wasn’t for the purpose. That declaration followed what was seen at the time to be a tidal wave of mistakes.
And nothing’s changed. The new Home Secretary, Shabana Mahmood, said the same thing just last week. Only now things are a hell of a lot worse because these civil servants know they can do what the hell they like and nothing’s going to happen to them.
Well, it’s time it did. In the private sector, when people cock up, they get kicked out. But it’s even more vital that this happens in the public sector because when departments like the Home Office mess up over immigration, the people who pay the price are British taxpayers.
Yet when British taxpayers dare to complain, it’s out of control - they’re slated as far-right racists. Doesn’t seem fair, does it?
