Greta's Gaza flotilla is worse than selfie stick narcissism. It's grist for a death cult - Jonathan Conricus

A flotilla of over 40 boats carrying Greta Thunberg’s band of 500 pro-Palestinian activists was intercepted by the Israeli Defence Forces last night. It beggars belief that these individuals were so recklessly entering a live combat zone.
The organisers claimed to be leading a humanitarian aid mission, but this simply doesn’t withstand scrutiny. The flotilla was carrying less than 10 trucks' worth of aid and doesn’t even have the means to offload this meagre contribution or safely distribute it.
This is a drop in the ocean compared to the vast aid efforts of Israel - more than 6,500 truckloads of food entered Gaza from Israel in September, with 420 trucks in one day this past Monday.
Israel, Italy and even the Pope have offered to safely deliver the aid if they abandon their reckless mission. The rabble rousers have bluntly rejected every proposal, including Israel’s offer to unload the aid at Ashkelon – a mere 10 miles from Gaza.
They have also disregarded calls from world leaders who are rightfully concerned that this stunt will embolden Hamas and scupper extremely sensitive efforts to get the terror group to agree to the internationally backed Gaza peace plan.
The ball is squarely in Hamas’s court to lay down their arms, but the dangerous support they are receiving from these Western left-wingers will merely encourage them to fight on.
Documents discovered in Gaza by the Israeli army suggest that this might even be a Hamas ruse to provide it with a pretext to fight on.
Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this week that the seized paperwork indicated that “key assets” of the flotilla mission are “owned and controlled by Hamas”.

The fact that the flotilla belligerently continues in the face of all this exposes that their purpose isn’t aid or support, but personal fame and publicity, at the expense of Gazans and Israelis.
The focus should be on the narcissistic tendencies of the organisers. They don’t want peace. Greta and her flunkies have zealously called for the destruction of the Jewish state with their tireless regurgitation of the genocidal ‘from the river to the sea’ mantra.
They’re totally fake and just doing it for personal gain and fame. While the adults exhaust every avenue to bring the war in Gaza to an end, these activists are busy posting selfies and publishing their poetry and songs on social media.
The narcissism of the social media generation has reached a new low point. Needless to say, these self-appointed saviours have been unable to put their student politics tendencies aside. Activists have reportedly fallen out. Greta was removed from the leadership committee.
There have been internal disagreements over their ‘communications strategy’ – aka propaganda. Media reports also suggested that the presence of LGBTQ activists among the participants prompted the withdrawal of another coordinator. This absurdity could be laughed off if it weren’t so serious.
The activists are deliberately entering a combat zone at a highly sensitive diplomatic moment. The IDF will exert all efforts to bring a peaceful resolution to this flotilla.
They have acquired ample experience in dealing with these sorts of performative attempts to breach the naval blockade of Gaza, something that even the anti-Israel UN has previously accepted is in accordance with international law.
But this flotilla is by some magnitude the largest number of boats yet, and the selfie-stick keffiyeh warriors will do everything within their power to prevent a peaceable interception.
If history tells us anything, it is that Israel will face knee-jerk condemnation regardless of what happens over the next 24 hours, but it is the succour given to Hamas by Greta and company which will have far greater and tragic consequences.
