What the hell has Ed Miliband got on Keir Starmer? It must be something huge because in any sane world, he wouldn’t have the job in Government at all, let alone the all-important job of energy minister.
This is the idiot who has lumbered us with the highest energy prices in Europe, who refuses ( even during a global oil shortage) to let us drill for more of our own oil in the North Sea and whose stupid wind turbines have made us a sitting duck in the face of Iranian drone attacks as they interfere with radar.
Ed Miliband should have his sorry backside kicked out of politics, not just because he looks and sounds like a 24-carat nutter but because his obsession with net zero is literally wrecking the country.
Britain produces a measly one per cent of the world’s carbon emissions, but nothing we do here is going to have the slightest effect on climate change as long as China, Russia and the U.S. are building new coal stations every other week. Yet still this zealot pursues his quest for net zero like a man possessed.
How can it be that when the war in Iran means we’re going to have an oil shortage, which could bring Britain to a standstill, our energy minister still refuses to allow the drilling of our own oil reserves?
His own mad ideologies mean more than the energy security of this country.
According to the North Sea Transition Authority, the amount of gas and oil in the North Sea is still the staggering equivalent of 25billion barrels of oil. Which would see us through God knows how many crises.
Also, new oil discoveries were being made all the time, but Red Ed put the kybosh on that by refusing to grant any new licences to find or drill for it.
So why is Starmer letting all this happen? Can you imagine any other leader in a global oil crisis letting his energy minister sit on reserves that could stop the all-out catastrophe of bringing their country to a grinding halt?
But yet again, Starmer is acting out of self-interest rather than in Britain’s interest.
He lets Miliband stay because he knows that not only is he after his job, but he’s the most popular minister among party members.

God knows why, unless they’re all as bonkers as he is, in which case we’ll all be hurtling towards Hell in a handcart if Starmer does get kicked out after the May elections because Miliband is the hot favourite for his job.
So here we are sitting on billions of barrels of oil that one mad zealot won’t let us get at – even in an oil crisis, which is why it's inconceivable he is still in position because any leader who gave a damn about the security of this country would have fired him long before now.
One commentator suggested this week that he should beggar off and join the Greens, but I think Ed’s too Red (and bonkers) even for Polanski’s nutjobs.
Remember when he promised he’d reduce our gas bills by £300 a month and generate thousands of green jobs. Well, he lied. Our bills have increased by nearly £200, and they’ll go up again this year if the war continues.
As for the Green jobs? What about the jobs that are going to be lost in Aberdeen- the heart of the oil industry - thanks to him? Predictions are that employment will plummet from 115,000 to just 57,000.
The fact is, whatever we do with green energy, we’re still going to need oil and gas for years to come. He has even admitted that, but rather than let us produce it ourselves, he’s going to import it from countries whose carbon footprint is way above ours.
The hypocrisy. The stupidity!
He’s seen to it that we are dependent on other unstable countries for our energy. What kind of energy policy is that?
The latest reports say that his zet zero target could trigger an economic shock greater than that of the 1973 oil crisis, which caused a global recession and 10 years of sky-high inflation. And that report from the Department for Business and Trade was written long before the war in Iran started.
It also warned that the poorest households are the ones that would be the hardest hit. Aren’t they always?
But still Miliband presses ahead with his lunacy - determined to de- carbonise our electricity grid by 2030, well ahead of other countries.
He also wants to ban petrol and diesel cars by 2030 - five years ahead of the EU. Why, for God’s sake? He will destroy what’s left of our car industry and create mass unemployment.
And has he not noticed the electric car industry is dying on its backside here in Britain? No one wants them.
So even though Government ministers now accept that net zero by 2030 will wreck our economy, the man who’s making it happen is allowed to carry on vandalising our economy and our country unchecked.
Again, I ask why Keir Starmer is allowing one deranged zealot to impose the kind of harm on this country that will take decades to heal if they ever do!
