If Lucy Connolly can be jailed for 31 months for her vile tweet, Bobby Vylan should be jailed for longer

In the wake of last summer’s Southport riots, Kier Starmer made clear that anyone inciting hate and violence must be jailed.
But for twenty minutes, our partisan state broadcaster continued to transmit the anti-Semitic sleazeball Bobby Vylan whipping up a crowd (a bunch of useless idiots who couldn’t find Gaza on a map if their life depended upon it) into a frenzy of Israelophobia where they were screaming for the death of other human beings.
Any police chief who can’t see that’s a problem shouldn’t be in the job.
If Lucy Connolly can be jailed for 31 months for her admittedly vile tweet (which she almost immediately deleted) then the piece of dog dirt, Vylan, should be jailed for longer.
Because this moron was actually chanting “death to the IDF” – Israeli soldiers – young men and women defending their Jewish homeland form the anti-Semites and terrorists and around them.
Then there’s the BBC who should face a damn sight more than condemnation for the fact they continued to broadcast this anti-Semitic rant when it was clear what it was about.
It, like Vylan, should be facing criminal charges. Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philip said the corporation appears to have broken the law by transmitting the singer’s calls for the murder of Israeli soldiers.
And top lawyer Lord Carlile also said the BBC may have committed a criminal offence.
Right, so let’s prosecute the people who let this happen.
Because you cannot have a state broadcaster in a supposedly civilised, democratic country transmitting calls for the death of people from a certain religion.
I’m sick to death of hearing people castigating the BBC for its partial, one-sided reporting - but doing buggar all about it.

We keep saying: “Bad bad BBC and Defund the BBC”, yet we do nothing.
From the start of the Israel/Palestine conflict, the Beeb has been repeatedly accused of anti-Semitism over its clearly biased coverage. But still, nothing seems to happen.
The BBC knew exactly what was going to happen at Glastonbury this week - and they went ahead and let those a***holes perform anyway.
Which is why this has to be a line in the sand. It has to be the moment the Government makes serious moves to take away the BBC’s charter as our state broadcaster because it simply isn’t fit for the job.
Yet still, we have no choice but to pay for its partisan reporting and its constant misrepresentation of the facts.
And while we’re at it, the Director of Music at the BBC, Lorna Clark, also needs to be sacked.
An idiot with idiot with half a brain should have known that with Vylan, part of a punk duo, as the warm-up act to Kneecap, something was going to kick off. So why, as the boss, didn’t she have a plan in place to shut down transmission if that happened? But no, there was nothing.
Maybe Ms Clarke was actually at Glastonbury enjoying the free hospitality at this licence payer-funded woke jamboree. Did she actually hear it happening, and did nothing?
We need to know because it’s our cash paying her a ludicrously high salary.
And why the hell are the organisers of Glastonbury now saying they’re “appalled” at what’s happened?
The hell they are! Founder of the festival, Michael Eavis, was asked before the festival started if he should have booked the band Kneecap, knowing one of them was up on a terrorist charge.
His response: “Anyone who doesn’t agree with the politics of the festival can go elsewhere.”
He too could have pulled the plug on that yob’s performance, but he chose not to.
Emily Eavis, his dopey daughter, who is also one of the organisers, has said Glastonbury is a festival of “peace and love”.
The woman sounds like she’s been on the magic mushrooms. There is nothing loving about performers calling for the murder of Jews.
Someone much cleverer than me said Glastonbury looked and sounded like a woke Nuremberg rally this weekend. And they’re right.
The blatant anti-Semitism on show at that festival was terrifying.
Instead of calling for the death of Jews those young people should have been commemorating and remembering those at the Nova Music Festival in 2023 who were tortured, raped and murdered by Hamas butchers – young people just like them.
But no, instead of that, these privileged, monumentally stupid festival goers screamed for the death of the young Jewish men and women in the IDF. Shame on the bloody lot of them!
Glastonbury is no longer a music festival. It’s a woke platform for thick, aggressive activists to spout their ill-informed bile – bile that calls for the murder of innocent people.
Most of those nutters shouting Free Palestine don’t give a flying fig about it. They just jumped on what, in Britain, is now a fashionable Jew- hating bandwagon.
I think Noel Gallagher’s message to those two bob musicians at Glastonbury was about right: "Just play your tunes – and f***k off."
