Dozens have been injured after the train from Moscow to Klimov derailed

Seven people have been killed and nearly 70 injured after two bridges collapsed in Russia overnight.

A train derailed after a bridge collapsed, killing the driver and six others on board.

Ukraine has not commented on the matter so far.

A senior Russian senator said blowing up the bridge and derailing the train indicated Ukraine "has turned into a terrorist enclave".

Sixty-nine people have been injured in the crash, with the train journeying from Moscow to Klimov.

The crash, which occurred in the Bryansk region, has been attributed to "illegal interference" by local authorities.

The region's acting governor, Alexander Bogomaz, said: "An operational headquarters was set up at the scene of the incident.

All operational and emergency services are located at the site of the bridge collapse; investigators are working.

"Everything is being done to provide all necessary assistance to the victims."

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS

Emergency workers are at the scene, trying to pull survivors from the wreckage of the train.

Another bridge collapsed later in Russia's Kursk region, while a freight train was passing over it.

One of the train's drivers has been injured in the crash, according to local officials.

Russia's Baza Telegram reported that the bridge in Bryansk has been blown up, but did not provide any evidence so far.

The Ukrainian Air Force said yesterday morning that Russia had carried out 114 aerial attacks across several regions of Ukraine.

Ten people were killed, including a nine-year-old girl, and 33 were injured following the attacks.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Telegram: "Russian strikes are becoming increasingly brazen and large-scale every night.

"There is no military logic in this, but it is a clear political choice, the choice of Putin, the choice of Russia, the choice to keep waging war and destroying lives.

"New and strong sanctions against Russia, from the United States, from Europe, and from all those around the world who seek peace, will serve as a guaranteed means of forcing Russia not only to cease fire, but also to show respect."
