A German right-wing activist is set to receive asylum in America, in what she says is a first under President Donald Trump.
Naomi Seibt, 25, is a critic of German’s main political parties and an outspoken supporter of the Alternative for Germany (AfD).
She is also a supporter of President Trump, posting today on her X account a picture of her wearing a Make America Great Again hat with a caption stating: “Today, I am officially the first German asylum seeker in the US under President Trump.”
Ms Seibt said in an interview with the Telegraph that she feared for her life after being targeted by German intelligence and receiving death threats from Antifa.

“It starts with Antifa, which is stronger in Germany than it is anywhere else in the world… I have received many death threats from Antifa,” the American asylum seeker said.
She said she presented the death threats to German police who did nothing as she had not yet been physically harmed.
Ms Seibt claimed that German intelligence had been watching her for several years.
“I believe there is a good chance they would try to arrest me at the airport… and come for me and my family, including my little sister, who is not political at all,” she said.

She is supported in her case by US Representative Anna Paulina Luna, a Republican representative for Florida, who posted a statement on X yesterday in support of Ms Seibt.
Mrs Luna, 36, wrote in her statement: “I will be personally assisting with her case and writing to the Secretary of State regarding what she is facing as well as the German Government’s prosecution of its own citizens for fighting western ideology and their culture.”
Later in the statement she wrote: “The very same German government that claims to fight Nazism is becoming acting like the secret police.

Ms Seibt said her reasons for seeking asylum in the United States was due to the sense of patriotism she believes America has, and her belief that the AfD was the only party in Germany seeking to promote patriotism.
The 25-year-old said: “The AfD is not imperialist like the Nazis, it is a libertarian-conservative party.
“Their only goal is to revive the patriotism that exists just as healthily in the United States.”
Since Germany’s return to democracy after World War II, the main political parties have agreed not to work with far-right movements, which the country’s intelligence agency said includes the AfD.
The AfD is polling ahead of the ruling Christian Democrat Union (CDU), but the non-cooperation agreement is intended to keep them out of a coalition government.
The AfD has opposed mass migration and multiculturalism, being in favour of banning the burka and mass deportation of German immigrants.
These are views that Ms Seibt has supported, using her X account of nearly half a million followers to share them.
She has also used her X account to share cases of political commentators being investigated by police, including Norbert Bolz, a political commentator who has written for mainstream outlets like Welt, the sister publication of Politico.
The pundit had officers arrive at his home and question him about a post including the phrase “Deutschland erwache!” (Germany, awake!), but was not arrested.
When asked about the potential irony of being an asylum seeker whilst simultaneously supporting AfD and President Trump, both of whom have taken a hardline stance on immigration, she said: “The AfD is not against immigration at all, we just want immigration that goes through strict and rigorous controls.
“The initial problem was in 2015 when Angela Merkel opened the borders, many of them were Islamists, it’s just extremely dangerous to not even check who’s coming in.
“You can’t assume they are all good people.
