Emmanuel Macron has been forced to get out of his car and walk as Donald Trump's convoy blocked roads and streets along the French President's route.
Footage showed Mr Macron confused as he was stranded on a road moments after leaving the UN headquarters in New York City on Monday.
A police officer can be heard telling Mr Macron: "I'm really sorry, Mr President, everything is frozen."
The French President then appears to call Mr Trump, saying: "Guess what, I'm waiting in the street right now because everything is frozen for you."
After a long time waiting, Mr Macron was forced to walk down the street with his bodyguards after the roads opened, but only for pedestrians.
Footage showed the awkward moment, with several social media users reacting to the viral clip.
One X user wrote: "That's not just a mix-up - that's a power signal. When world leaders get parked so Trump can pass, it tells you everything about who commands respect in the room."
Another called it "humiliating" that the French President was "stuck on the curb while Trump's motorcade rolls like a king's parade".
