Dubai Airports earlier today suspended all flights at Dubai International and at Al Maktoum International until further notice, urging passengers not to travel following US-Israeli strikes on Iran.
Emirates and flydubai temporarily halted operations, while Etihad suspended all departures from Abu Dhabi until 10am (GMT) on Sunday.
Dubai International Airport is the busiest in the world, having seen a record-breaking 95.2 million passengers in 2025.
The US and Israel struck Iran this morning and have claimed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei had been killed in the operation.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, President Trump said the Ayatollah’s death is “the single greatest chance for the Iranian people to take back their country”.
"Khamenei, one of the most evil people in history, is dead," the US President wrote.
"This is not only justice for the people of Iran, but for all great Americans, and those people from many countries throughout the world, that have been killed or mutilated by Khamenei and his gang of bloodthirsty THUGS."
The attacks, which hit targets in Tehran and across the country, prompted retaliation from Iran with strikes reported in several Gulf countries including the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

The US and Israel described the attacks as a “pre-emptive” strike against a Tehran government intent on developing nuclear weapons.
Talks between the US and Iran aimed at resolving the issue of Tehran’s nuclear ambitions ended on Thursday without agreement, but were expected to resume at a later date.
Speaking from Downing Street, Sir Keir Starmer said the UK had not been involved in the strikes, but had subsequently deployed aircraft “as part of co-ordinated regional defensive operations to protect our people, our interests and our allies”.
