Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu has nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize as efforts to secure a peace deal in Gaza rumble on.
The Israeli Prime Minister handed Trump a letter, which he said he had used to nominate the President for the Nobel Peace Prize. Trump thanked him in return.
The two world leaders met in person on Monday evening for the first time since Trump's extraordinary bombing raids on Iran last month, with the pair hinting at progress on a move to relocate Palestinians from Gaza.
"If people want to stay, they can stay, but if they want to leave, they should be able to leave," Netanyahu shrugged.

"We're working with the United States very closely about finding countries that will seek to realise what they always say, that they wanted to give the Palestinians a better future. I think we're getting close to finding several countries."
Trump then added: "We've had great cooperation from... surrounding countries, great cooperation from every single one of them.
"Something good will happen."
Earlier this year, Trump suggested turfing out locals in Gaza and redeveloping the Hamas-run strip of land into the "Riviera of the Middle East".

The landmark meeting between the pair came amid negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian terror group.
Negotiators in Qatar have been grinding out attempts to secure some kind of Gaza hostage and ceasefire deal.
The day before the leaders' meal, Trump predicted that an agreement could be reached as soon as this week.
Hamas backer Iran has also hinted at peace, with President Masoud Pezeshkian saying he believed Tehran could resolve its differences with the US through talks.
Trump then confirmed his administration would be meeting with Iran.

Last month, Pakistan formally recommended the President for the Nobel Peace Prize following his "pivotal leadership" and "decisive diplomatic intervention" after tensions soared between it and India earlier this year.
But Trump, after that, lamented how "I won't get a Nobel Peace Prize for stopping the war between India and Pakistan.
"I won't get a Nobel Peace Prize no matter what I do, including Russia/Ukraine, and Israel/Iran, whatever those outcomes may be."
