Police had earlier claimed there were no survivors of the crash, with more than 200 bodies recovered from the site

British survivor Vishwash Kumar Ramesh has been spotted walking away from the Air India plane crash, in new footage from local media.

The 40-year-old Briton can be seen walking away from the crash site with a slight limp following the tragedy, which is thought to have killed almost 300 people.

A London-bound Air India aircraft crashed to the ground just minutes after takeoff in Ahmedabad, carrying 242 people including crew members.

Ramesh is a British-Indian passenger who was returning to the UK after a visit. Reports claim he had taken the flight with his brother, whom he is still trying to find.

Ahmedabad Police Commissioner GS Malik was quoted as saying police found "one survivor in seat 11A".

Ramesh reportedly told media from his hospital bed: "Thirty seconds after takeoff, there was a loud noise and then the plane crashed. It all happened so quickly."

In the footage, obtained by local media NDTV, Ramesh appears to only be carrying minor injuries, as he walks away from the scene of the tragedy with a slight limp.

Ramesh, wearing a white t-shirt with slight blood staining, appeared to be holding a mobile phone as he walked from the site.

Reviewing the footage on GB News, Home and Security Editor Mark White declared it is "incredible" that Ramesh managed to survive the horror crash seemingly unscathed.

Mark told host Martin Daubney: "That's him walking away there, according to NDTV, he's just limping away there.

"But I mean, there's a trace of some blood on that white t-shirt, but it's just incredible that he is able not only to survive this, but the fact that he's on his feet."

Reviewing Ramesh's behaviour, Mark added that it appears he "doesn't want to speak to people" despite being surrounded by locals offering help to him.

Mark explained: "He's walking out there, I think clearly by the looks of it, just not wanting to speak to people as he moves towards an ambulance there.

"But it's just incredible and amazing that NDTV and India have managed to obtain these images, and our thanks to them for that."

Delivering his verdict on the footage, Martin concluded: "It's just almost impossible to compute that that man is walking away.

"Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, it's just impossible to believe he's been in a plane crash. He looks no more injured than if he'd fallen off a pushbike. It's simply miraculous that footage."
