The Metropolitan Police has arrested two more people on suspicion of murder following a shooting that killed 14-year-old Eghosa Ogbebor.

A 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man were detained in Woolwich on Saturday in connection with the death of the boy.

Both suspects are currently being held by police.

Officers also apprehended a 46-year-old man on suspicion of helping an offender evade justice.

He also remains in custody as the investigation continues.

The latest arrests bring the total number of people detained in connection with the case to six since the fatal shooting occurred on Thursday afternoon.

Eghosa was shot on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich during broad daylight on Thursday.

Despite the efforts of emergency responders, the teenager was found with severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Initially, officers were unable to establish the victim's identity, and he was mistakenly referred to as an adult by the police.

Specialist officers have been assigned to support Eghosa's family throughout the ongoing murder investigation.

Prior to Saturday's arrests, police had detained three individuals on Friday, 3 April in connection with the teenager's death.

Two boys, one aged 14 and the other 16, along with an 18-year-old man, were taken into custody as part of the initial investigation.

The sequence of arrests demonstrates the pace at which investigators are pursuing leads in the case.
