Police have launched an appeal following the death

Two men have been arrested following a fatal knife attack during the early hours of Christmas morning.

West Midlands Police were summoned to Burcot Avenue, Wolverhampton, shortly after 3.30am on Thursday.


Officers discovered a 30-year-old victim with stab wounds.

Despite attempts by emergency medical staff to save him, the man was declared dead at the scene.

Two suspects, one aged 35 and another aged 58, have been taken into custody on suspicion of murder.

A cordon has been established at the site whilst detectives continue their work.

Investigators are pursuing multiple lines of inquiry as they work to establish the circumstances surrounding the killing.

Detective Chief Superintendent Ed Foster confirmed the force is conducting a thorough examination of the scene.

"We are in the early stages of our investigation and carrying out quick-time enquiries including forensic examination, reviewing CCTV footage and speaking to witnesses," he said.

"We ask anyone who may have any information about what happened to contact us.

Forensic specialists are gathering evidence at the location whilst detectives analyse video surveillance from the surrounding area.
