Wales: Pwllheli RNLI boathouse funded by sale of classic Ferraris

Two rare 1960s classic Ferraris donated to the RNLI in 2015 have been sold for a combined £8.5 million which has helped to fund a boathouse in Pwllheli on the Gwynedd coast in north Wales.
The vehicles were bequeathed to the charity by classic car enthusiast Richard Colton after he passed away.
One vehicle was a Ferrari 275 GTB/4 which raised £1.93 million, the other was a red 1960 Ferrari 250 GT SWB was sold for £6.6 million.
Llyn Peninsula’s new boathouse was opened by the godson of the late Mr Colton, Charles Denton.
The event was a ‘triple ceremony’ for the 130-year-old RNLI Pwllheli Lifeboat crew with the official opening of the new lifeboat station building and the naming and dedication of their new Shannon class lifeboat and a new launch and recovery system.
